Point Loma Tide Pools

Today we finally went to the Tide Pools in Point Loma. We'd heard from friends that this was a great place for kids to go looking for hermit crabs and other small sea creatures while enjoying a glorious view of the Pacific Ocean. We made sure to go at low tide, the best time to go, and on our way we stopped for lunch at "The Taste of the Himalayas," our favorite Indian restaurant.

Maddie loved the Lentil Soup.

Andrew likes spicy food but it cracks me up how it makes him sweat. The food is too good to resist!

Beautiful

My Mom and sister enjoying the view.

Down at the tide pools. Eli loved having his shoes off!

Maddie loved sitting in the puddles and scooping up the sand. Next time we'll bring the kids in bathing suits! Here she is posing with her Aunt Bianca :)

Sydney (my nature girl) loved it until we saw a small hermit crab. Then she wanted to hold my hand for fear one would pinch her toes. Luckily none did :)

Such a pretty day!

Happy New Year 2014!

I am back to blogging as one of my new year's resolutions. It's been a great day. Sydney had a playdate with her friend, Sophia, in the morning. It was the first playdate where she was dropped off and picked up. It's a big step for both of us and it melted my heart when her first question was, "Are you going to stay with me?" She was a little nervous about it, but was excited too. Maddie and Eli played at the park with my Mom and sister who are in town until Friday. It has been wonderful having them here.
This afternoon we played behind our house. The kids were blowing bubbles and Hazel was enjoying a nice afternoon outside. We wrapped up the first day of the year with good food and cuddling on the couch while we watched "The Sword in the Stone" for family movie night. I'm so thankful for my wonderful husband, my three sweet, loving children, and my sweet golden retriever. Feeling so blessed on this first day of the New Year.
